Foundations for Great Guitar Playing (Grade levels 7-12)
Foundations for Great Guitar Playing is a presentation of the material in Morgan's book of the same name. This presentation is geared for students who are interested in gaining a solid understanding of how to approach making music on a guitar. Morgan takes a very practical approach to revealing the mysteries of the fretboard. Beginning with an explanation of the physics of a vibrating string the presentation moves to dexterity, scales, chords and chord progression. Up to 15 students are invited to bring their instruments for a hands-on learning experience. Additional students are welcome to observe.

This information is offered in three formats: as a one-time workshop, as a 2-week residency and as a 3-week residency. All key areas of guitar playing are covered in each of the formats. The two and three week residencies permit a more in-depth exploration of each topic.
