Todd Yarrington

Artist's Narrative

Todd Yarrington Todd Yarrington is an award-winning photographer/designer/videographer who has been producing work for the central Ohio community for over 35 years. His studio, near Westerville, is located on a four-acre lot surrounded by trees and nature. Many of his personal works draw attention to the beauty of the natural world around us. Rather than pursuing exotic, hard-to-find subjects, he turns his lens to the micro-world that exists around us all. Many shots are taken no further away than his own back yard. He looks very closely at textures, colors and patterns which are often completely overlooked.

Programs Available

Learning to See (K-12)

A real-time demonstration with a digital camera, monitor and lights. Students will learn about pixels, RGB and CMY color models, qualities of lighting, image composition and the fun that can be had by turning any found object into art, and how anyone with any camera can take better pictures. Todd supports this with his own fine art nature images and with demonstrations that involve the students. He will share some of the tricks of the trade, and show how commercially printed pieces, which appear to contain thousands of colors, are made by only printing four: cyan, magenta, yellow and black. This presentation works best with class-size groups. Discussion of technical terms and concepts can be adjusted to fit any age group.
