Artist's Narrative

Tom Todd Tom Todd is a singer and multi-instrumentalist who has devoted his life to making music. Accomplished on electric and acoustic guitars, banjo, flute, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, keyboard, harmonica and song flute/recorder, he has performed as a full-time professional musician for over 17 years, entertaining and educating at schools, colleges, festivals and concerts.

AMERICANA- A Rockin’ History of America Through Song (All Ages)
There are many things in America worth singing about! We live in a strong nation that values life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Many American songs have been written about great accomplishments, famous people and battles that were won. This high energy, entertaining program offers traditional favorites to rock and roll that celebrate our country and our values while featuring many different instruments. It is lively and fast paced. Songs are presented in a chronological order so students can see how the songs reflect events in American history.

This program emphasizes having fun with music. Sing-alongs, funny songs, and more audience participation is encouraged. This program can also be tailored to your school's special events or used as a special motivational reward.

History of Rock and Roll (Grade levels 6-12)
Who invented the term "rock and roll?" Who were the most successful artists and what were the greatest hit songs? How did the evolution of rock and roll coincide with events happening in society at the time? Tom Todd performs many of the great songs from the 50's through the 90's while exploring how music and current events have influenced each other over the decades. Complete with synthesizer back-up and numerous instruments, Tom Todd offers a rock and roll concert with an educational value. A teacher's study guide is included.

An entertaining and educational demonstration of ten different musical instruments including sax, trumpet, flute, trombone, banjo, guitar, keyboards and more. How do instruments work? Where do they come from? What do synthesizers do? How are different instruments arranged to create a song? These questions and more are answered in an entertaining, interactive program that invites the students to try some of the instruments, and sing along to their favorite songs. A teacher's study guide is included.
