PBS and Award Winning Artsbridge Storyteller, Author, Singer and Cartoonist J.D. Williamson will amaze and astound your students with his humorous and zany educational entertainment programs. J.D. includes with each live show his audience participation, humor, games and interactive fun called "learning with laughter." His programs are custom made for all ages by content and vocabulary levels that are matched to your curriculum. He also creates custom made shows upon request as seen below for his past school assemblies.
J.D Draws, sings and tell stories, while including your students own interests, such as their favorite animal, sport, character or hobby with each drawing and story by Improvisation The images are all created from any scribble, shapes or randomly connected dots they make on his easel. At the same time J.D. includes the educational topic and theme that you may select for each show.
His popular school show assembly topics such as Ohio History with True and Tall Heroes, The Reading Express with Johann Gutenberg or Character Counts and Manners Matter keep J.D.in demand for school show assemblies. Schools may select a combination of topics and theme programs for each grade if they wish. All year round he also presents at summer reading library shows, festivals and fairs and conventions as a full time performing and studio artist.
J.D. authored and presented his stories and artwork for a WOUB Athens PBS program called "Read It, Write It, Tell It! " - a series about famous Ohioans. He created the stories artwork and backdrop for the show.
He graduated from Berea College with a bachelor of fine arts by working his way through school as an artist with the school labor program and by freelancing in the local community.
