Artist's Narrative

 Hip-Hop-Ademics Brian K. Holland is a graduate of Slippery Rock University in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania, were he earned a B.S. in Special Education and a M.Ed. in Early Childhood Education.  Currently, he teaches first grade for the Pickerington Local School District.  In 2006, he decided to pursue his dream of sharing Hip-Hop-Ademics, Rapping Kids into Learning with the world.  Currently his programs are being used in numerous elementary schools, child care centers, and head starts throughout the country.  His love and passion for Hip-Hop-Ademics to succeed is motivated by his desire to help children build a life long love for learning.

Availability

Limited availability Monday through Friday. Afternoons preferred. Available evenings and weekends upon request.
This artist is based in Columbus. Travel charges may apply for schools outside of the area.


Programs Available

Hip-Hop-Ademics: Rapping Kids into Learning (Grade levels K - 2)
This program will excite and entertain your students and staff while teaching basic reading, math, and character education skills to students using hip-hop music.  Brian gives an exciting and unforgettable performance that includes 6-8 original Hip-Hop-Ademics songs, games, activities and prizes.
Activity Options:
Rapping Kids into Learning
  • Duration: 30-45 min.
  • Fees: $250/$400 for two back-to-back
  • Requirements: Electrical outlet, wireless microphone, and table. 150 students max.

Hip-Hop-Ademics: Making the Right Choices (Grade levels 3 - 5)
Brian will show your students how to get down and have fun in a positive way while performing original Hip-Hop-Ademics songs, and conducting educational activities dealing with character education.  For example, Respect, Saying No to Drugs, Not Smoking, and Making Good Choices.

  • Duration: 30-45 min.
  • Fees: $250/$400 for two back-to-back
  • Requirements: Electrical outlet, wireless microphone, and table. 150 students max.

Staff Development (Adult)
Stated by many Columbus Public Schools teachers as one of the greatest professional development workshops ever, Brian will take your staff on a fantastic voyage in which he will teach them how to use hip-hop music in teaching basic math, reading, and character education skills.  Brian is a dynamic speaker that keeps the crowd intrigued with music, movement, hilarious stories, and small group activities.  Your staff will truly appreciate his “out of the box” style of presenting.
